I am old enough to remember the conversion to decimal currency in my early teens. I remember it was a highly unpopular change and everybody predicted a disaster. Despite that success the metric measures have been introduced in the worst possible way here.

The use of two sets of units is very misleading for the food shopper. There is a good summary of some common problems http://www.ukma.org.uk/Practical/shopping/unfriendly.htm . Price transparency is so important whether you are buying apples or an insurance policy.

Thanks for the nice thoughts, roynelson, but they did not choose my design (it was too complex), but things are going well at the place where I work and I may even get a pay rise soon.

It is fascinating how so many people cram onto the tube, without realsing how close together some of the stations actually are.
You could easily walk between them in less time, taking an opportunity to discover real London at the same time and help link the green places.
